Gordon Smith, the senior site lead and facilitator for the Medical Simulation Training Center at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, uses computers to control simulated life functions of mannequins during combat lifesaver re-certification in the MSTC. Combat medics of the 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment, South Carolina Army National Guard used the MSTC to re-certify 141 of the battalion's combat lifesavers. The battalion assumed security force and camp operations missions in northern Kuwait in April, and is now in the process of heading home.
