Capt. Ronald Oswald, commanding officer, Navy Operational Support Center Ventura County, speaks about the great loss to the Navy and the nation on Dec. 7, 1941, during a Pearl Harbor memorial at the Shoreline Care Center as a part of the Spirit of ’45 celebration. Full-time support and Navy Reserve sailors visited the facility to spend time with veterans and pay tribute to those lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Organized by VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and Shoreline, the event featured World War II memorabilia from Touching History, a touring military museum, and a POW/MIA static display provided by NOSC Ventura County.
