Maj. Gen. Brett Sylvia, commander of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) delivers an address at the official ceremony of the 79th year commemoration of Operation Market Garden at Sint-Oedenrode, Netherlands, Sept. 17, 2023.
"79 years ago American and British soldiers united to conduct the largest airborne operation in the history of the world," Sylvia said. "We gather today as a united people to remember the commitment of our forefathers."
Following the ceremony Syliva along with members of the British and Dutch military laid wreathes at the memorial to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives during Operation Market Garden.
