U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Averi Burke, a fixed-wing mechanic with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 542, closes a panel on an F-35B Lightning II jet at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, Sept. 14, 2023. The Naval Weapon System Evaluation Program allowed VMFA-542 to safely conduct the loading and firing of live missiles at threat-realistic targets to test the squadron's ability, flexibility, and procedures while repositioned in unfamiliar locations.
