    Innovative Readiness Training

Master Sergeant Brad Wilson, Innovative Readiness Training, National Guard Bureau, shares a laugh with members of the Coast Guard after gifting them an IRT patch, Nawiliwili Bay, Kauai, Hawaii, September 14th, 2023. The Coast Guard gave a tour of one of their ships to a group of distinguished guests and members of IRT during a visit to the Kauai Emergency Management Agency for the Emergency Operations Plan Re-Write and Hurricane Shelters Assessment project. During this project, Air National Guard Emergency Management, in partnership with KEMA, re-wrote the county’s EOP, bringing it up to State and Federal standards, along with ANG’s Civil Engineers having conducted structural assessments of multiple public buildings and schools throughout Kauai County. Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) is a Department of Defense military training opportunity, exclusive to the United States and its territories, that delivers joint training opportunities to increase deployment readiness. Simultaneously, IRT provides key services (health care, construction, transportation, and cybersecurity) with lasting benefits for our American communities.
