U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. 1st Class Lamar Turner, a 56M - religious affairs specialist and the acting 1st Sgt. of the 7th Mission Support Command's Headquarters and Headquarters Company discusses his transition from active duty Army into America's Army Reserve, Sept. 28, 2023, during a community engagement event with cadets from Kaiserslautern High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
"When I was in high school, nobody presented us this information. These weren't opportunities I knew about it," said Turner. "We should continue to participate in events like this so that we can ensure our students know about the variety of military opportunities available to them -- that will allow them to get after their civilian and military professional goals as well as their education goals."
The engagement allowed students a glimpse at the many paths to service in America's Army Reserve, highlighting a variety of career fields, as well as professional and civilian education opportunities.
The 7th Mission Support Command is THE Army Reserve Presence in Europe. Comprised of 26 units across Germany and Italy, the 7th provides logistics and sustainment support for U.S. Army Europe and Africa missions throughout the theater.
