U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District commander, Col. James Booth presents Alejandra Amegin a certificate of appreciation as guest speaker during the districts Hispanic Heritage Month celebration Oct. 3 with a luncheon in Jacksonville. Amegin is the founder of the Jax Natural Healing, Vive Yoga Studio. Amegin, who came to the United States from Mexico when she was small, told her story of moving to the United States, growing through changes and her emphasis on education, hard work and discipline to better understand her heritage. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
