Chief Warrant Officer 2 Dane Beathard, 2nd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery, 75th Field Artillery Brigade, emphasizes the harrowing events he and other members of his unit faced during a human wave event in South Korea Oct. 31, 2022. The incident killed more than 150 people due to crushing and asphyxiation. Beathard and his fellow Soldiers are credited with saving dozens of lives. He was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal for his actions.
