NEWPORT, R.I. -- Gen. Charles Flynn, the Commanding General of U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), speaks with U.S. Army students at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC), October 16, 2023. Each year NWC’s educational programs welcome students from the Joint Services with approximately 80 Soldiers in attendance for the 2023-2024 academic year. Gen. Flynn assumed command of USARPAC, the Army’s largest Service Component, in June of 2021. USARPAC provides the Joint Force with decisive integrated landpower to consolidate gains across a joint campaign to deter, transition, and respond to natural and manmade crises, and prevail in conflict tin the most consequential region for America’s future. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
