The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began the first site assessments for Phase 1 private property debris removal Oct. 27 in Lahaina, Hawai‘i. Red ribbon markers on assessed properties identify the ash footprint, or hot zone, where assessors are required to be suited up for safety prior to entering.
