U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and 1st Security Forces Assistance Brigade conduct jungle movement and transportation methods during the academics portion of Southern Vanguard 24 in Belem, Brazil, Nov. 3, 2023. The Soldiers will use the jungle survival skills during a field training exercise in the Amazon Jungle during Southern Vanguard 24, an annual bilateral exercise which rotates between partner nations in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility, and is designed to enhance partner interoperability between the U.S. and partner nation forces.
