This photo of Navy Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Proceso Piedad, the grandfather of Sgt. Maj. MacArthur D. Ocampo, is one of his cherished mementos of his family. Ocampo said his grandfather was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, who served with honor and made a better life for his children and grandchildren. Now the 8th Theater Sustainment Command’s materiel management sergeant major in Fort Shafter, Hawaii, Ocampo reflects on how the Army has also provide him with so many opportunities, including developing deep personal friendships and living a comfortable life, he said.
