231107-N-VM650-2196 PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 7, 2023) Capt. David Huljack, deputy commodore of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, right, and Cmdr. Jason Garfield, commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104), answer questions during a meeting in the wardroom aboard Sterett during Multi-Large Deck Event (MLDE). MLDE with the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group, Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) is designed to advance combined readiness between JMSDF and the U.S. Navy while simultaneously demonstrating our commitment to our partners and allies in the Indo-Pacific region. Sterett, assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE, is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
