    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Filipino Marines with Marine Battalion Landing Team 10, pose for a photo following a Sunday mass in Basco, Batanes, Philippines, Nov. 12, 2023. Marines were invited to attend the local mass to strengthen the relationship and build positive engagement with Batanes locals as a part of KAMANDAG 7. KAMANDAG is an annual bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military designed to strengthen interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences. This year marks the seventh iteration of this exercise and includes participants from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and observers from the United Kingdom. MRF-SEA is a Marine Corps Forces Pacific operational model that involves exchanges with subject matter experts, promotes security goals with Allies and Partners, and positions I MEF forces west of the International Date Line.
