Gen. Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces of Thailand, receives a commemorative plaque from Brig. Gen. Derek N. Lipson, U.S. Special Operations Command Korea (SOCKOR) commander, at Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea, on Nov. 15, 2023, after discussing unique special operations considerations. During the meeting Lipson described the unique capabilities of SOCKOR while also highlighting the many relationships they share with their ROK Allies and other United Nations Command (UNC) Member States. Recently, SOCKOR and Thai special operations personnel participated in a combined static-line training jump alongside Filipino, United Kingdom, and ROK Special Warfare personnel, demonstrating their ability to train and work together toward combined defense priorities.
