Lance Cpl. William Garcia, a motor-vehicle operator with Charlie Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, makes final adjustments to his Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle before exiting Camp Fallujah's gate March 7. The company of Marine combat engineers left early morning to provide logistics and personnel support to service members at Forward Operating Base Hawas, swapping out a generator and dropping off five specialized utility Marines to operate the FOB's water purification system. The company also retrieved a downed Humvee before dawn. Combat engineers continue to provide support by emplacing force-protection barriers, building safe structures and repairing damaged roads, but they're also starting to demilitarize surrounding communities as Al Anbar province becomes more stable.
