Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Walters, a senior instructor with the 7th Army Training Command's Combined Arms Training Center, teaches a land navigation and map reading course to Malawi Defence Force (MDF) noncommissioned officers at the Malawi Armed Forces College headquarters building, in Salima, Malawi, Nov. 10, 2023. U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) has partnered with the MDF since 2014 to develop and strengthen noncommissioned officer training. This engagement, part of a initiative to expand collaboration between MDF and U.S. noncommissioned officers, included training and instruction of Malawian NCO instructors on the updated co-developed curriculum that will assist the MDF in creating well rounded NCOs.
