Arthur Smith, 374th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, conducts a thru-flight inspection (TFI) at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Nov. 30, 2023, in support of Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23). A TFI is a thorough inspection of an aircraft that is conducted before, during, and after flight to ensure safety and efficiency. This process includes a visual inspection for any signs of defects, functional checks to the engine and landing gear, and recording the results to ensure required maintenance has been performed.
