U.S. Air Force crew chiefs, from the 374th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, push a generator toward a parked USAF C-130J Super Hercules, assigned to the 36th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Nov. 30, 2023, in support of Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23). Yokota’s maintainers conduct 24/7 maintenance operations during OCD 23, working in 12-hour shifts. The 374th Airlift Wing from Yokota Air Base, Japan, leads OCD each year, and gathers personnel from Allied and partner nations as well as Airmen from the 36th Wing from Andersen AFB and the 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, to plan and execute low-cost, low-altitude airdrops.
