Members with the Arizona Army National Guard pose with National Guard senior leaders after taking home top honors at the 2023 National Guard Bureau Innovation Challenge competition at the Herbert R. Temple Jr. Army National Guard Readiness Center, Arlington Hall Station, Dec. 7, 2023. The purpose of the competition was to find innovative solutions to challenges facing National Guard elements while building what competition officials described as an “innovation ecosystem” among Soldiers, Airmen and Guard civilians. The Arizona Army Guard members – comprising of Lt. Col. Loong Lee, Sgt 1st Class John McCrory and Mr. John Ralph – emerged the winners for their concept of exportable maneuver live fire capabilities that could help units achieve training requirements.
