Nanako Lipai, a Mokil Atoll native, watches a member of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force 401st Tactical Airlift Squadron as they prepare to airdrop bundles of humanitarian aid during Operation Christmas Drop 2023 (OCD 23) above the Federated States of Micronesia, Dec. 6, 2023. This was Lipai’s third time flying during OCD but it was the first time she got to fly to her home island to drop supply bundles. Through the international cooperation and the enduring commitment of the U.S. Air Force and its allies and partners, OCD has become a testament to the power of collaboration and shared humanity.
