Jason Garfield, center, commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104), engages with other senior officers from across Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1 during a reception for distinguished visitors aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Sterett is in the Republic of Singapore for a port visit, supporting operational readiness and regional partnerships. Sterett is assigned to Carrier Strike Group 1 and deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
