Staff Sgt. Jarrett Kocan, a trumpeter for the Heritage Brass ensemble assigned the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band, plays the trumpet during a concert for students and staff members of Carnegie-Mellon University at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Feb. 22, 2023. Heritage Brass is a six-member pioneering symphonic brass ensemble bringing the military tradition of brass and percussion to the concert stage. The ensemble supported the Air Force’s recruiting efforts by touring through the 311th Recruiting Squadron’s area of responsibility, covering eight school districts and performing for hundreds of students. During performances, they shared their experiences and opportunities provided by the Air Force, while answering any questions students may have about joining the military.
