CH-47 Chinook helicopters, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Combat Aviation Brigade, are staged at an undisclosed location in the U.S. Army Central Command Area of Operations, December 8, 2023, following a global transport on the Green Cove cargo vessel, facilitated by the Surface Deployment Distribution Command and members of the U.S. Merchant Marines. Port Operations are essential for ensuring seamless logistical deployment for sustained combat force projection.
