Multiple CH-47 Chinook helicopters, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Combat Aviation Brigade, are staged at an undisclosed location in the U.S. Army Central Command Area of Operations, December 8, 2023, following a global transport facilitated by the Surface Deployment Distribution Command and members of the U.S. Merchant Marines. Port Operations are essential for ensuring seamless logistical deployment for sustained combat force projection. These aviation assets will enable Soldiers to expediently provide support to troops across the region with aerial deliveries, medical evacuations, and troop transport. (U.S. Army Photo by Capt.
