This #FortRileyFriday we continue our look at buildings that originally. served to support activities on the old Artillery Post.
Building 372 Carter Avenue was built in 1889. It was originally used as an Artillery Stable. It was made with #limestone walls and foundation with a brick floor and a tin roof. It was designed to stable 84 horses.
Like most buildings in this area of post, by 1930 building 372 was redesignated from an Artillery facility to a Cavalry facility following the closure of the Artillery School at #FortRiley following World War I.
Today, 372 Carter Avenue is occupied by the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) and is part of their Operations Center.
