    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Ethan Purcell, a landing support specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, advances to an objective during a mass casualty rehearsal aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 30, 2024. The rehearsal reinforces the Navy and Marine Corps’ abilities, while working together, to effectively respond to scenarios with numerous casualties throughout the 31st MEU’s area of responsibility. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. Purcell is a native of Florida. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Tyler Andrews)
