U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Israel Magana, a finance technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, takes accountability of Marines and U.S. Navy Sailors during a mass casualty rehearsal aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 30, 2024. The rehearsal reinforces the Navy and Marine Corps’ abilities, while working together, to effectively respond to scenarios with numerous casualties throughout the 31st MEU’s area of responsibility. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. Magana is a native of Washington. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Tyler Andrews)
