U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Cody N. Kimbley, a crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, briefs the platoon during a helicopter boarding drill aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 30, 2024. Boarding drills refine the Marines’ ability to board and offload helicopters quickly and efficiently during time critical mission sets. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
