U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Anthony J. Allen, a combat medic specialist with 627th Hospital Center, received the Order of Military Medical Merit presented by Maj. Gen. David Doyle, commanding general, 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, at Fort Carson, Colorado, Jan. 31, 2024. One of his notable contributions to Army medicine is that Allen served as senior line medic while deployed to Iraq in 2009 and earned his combat medic badge while treating a casualty under fire.
