U.S. Army Sgt. 1st class Anthony Hegberg, a medic assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 173rd Airborne Brigade participates in an army combat fitness test as part of the best medic competition assessment and selection, Caserma Del Din, Vicenza, Italy, Feb. 13, 2024. U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) hosted a best medic competition assessment and selection from Feb. 13-14, at Caserma Del Din and Caserma Ederle in order to select the best medics to represent 173rd Airborne Brigade in the FY24 Army Best Medic Competition. The 24-hour selection program measures a range of critical skills, including trauma care, emergency medicine, and physical fitness. Through rigorous and competitive scenarios, the selection program serves to elevate and showcase the proficiency of medics, fostering a culture of excellence within military medical teams.
