Frank Womack, 12th Maintenance Squadron work lead, performs scheduled maintenance on the speed brake of a T-38 Talon Feb. 9, 2024, at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. The T-38 undergoes periodic maintenance to ensure the aircraft is safe and functional for the 490 pilot trainees per year. The 12th Flying Training Wing, which is headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, consists of three flying groups and a maintenance directorate spanning more than 1,600 miles.
