St. Louis District Regulatory personnel partnered with the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge on Feb. 2, 2024, to perform maintenance on a tree planting project at the Yorkinut Slough area in Brussels, Illinois. The team removed wire cages from several oak and pecan trees in a 235-acre area located within the refuge boundary. This project coincided with World Wetland Day giving staff the opportunity to view the refuge and learn about ongoing projects.
