Carlos Serranowaters, the forward arming and refueling point staff non-commissioned officer in charge, with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, attaches a component to a fuel hose while setting up a FARP, on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 14, 2024. A FARP is a point of operations to refuel and rearm U.S. aircrafts outside of a forward operating base. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo- Pacific region.
