Vice Adm. Doug G. Perry, the leader of both Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFC-NF) and the U.S. 2nd Fleet (C2F), addressed the Norfolk Rotary Club at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club on Feb. 21, 2024. During his talk, Perry highlighted the functions and significance of C2F and JFC-NF, as well as the pivotal role of NATO alliances and partnerships. He noted that the U.S. 2nd Fleet, which was reactivated in 2018 due to evolving global security challenges, is focused on preparing and deploying naval forces for operations in the Atlantic and Arctic. These operations aim to maintain secure access, prevent aggression, and protect the interests of the U.S., its allies, and partners.
