Vice Adm. Doug G. Perry, the commander of both Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFC-NF) and the U.S. 2nd Fleet (C2F), addressed the Norfolk Rotary Club at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club on Feb. 21, 2024. During the event, Perry outlined the responsibilities of C2F and JFC-NF, highlighting the critical role of NATO alliances and partnerships. Reactivated in 2018 to adapt to shifts in the global security landscape, the U.S. 2nd Fleet is charged with organizing and deploying naval forces capable of operating in the Atlantic and Arctic regions. These efforts aim to maintain access, deter hostile actions, and safeguard the interests of the U.S., its allies, and partners.
