U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Brian T. Cashman, deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), awards his wife, Pilar Cashman, the Public Service Commendation Medal at Caserma Del Din, Vicenza, Italy, on Feb. 26, 2024. The Public Service Commendation Medal is the fourth highest public service decoration the Department of the Army can bestow upon a civilian, for outstanding service to the Army. SETAF-AF provides U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Army Europe and Africa a dedicated headquarters to synchronize Army activities in Africa and scalable crisis response options in Africa and Europe.
