NAVAL BASE GUAM (March 1, 2024) – Derek Gordon, deputy chief for Central Distribution Center (CDC) Kaiserslautern Germany speaks with the Honorable Franklin R. Parker, assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (center) and Capt. John Frye, U.S. Naval Base Guam Commanding Officer (right) during a visit and tour of the DeCA operated-CDC onboard NBG, Feb. 29. Parker is responsible for the oversight of manpower and reserve component affairs of the Department of the Navy, including the full spectrum of policy and programs for active duty, reserve, and retired military, their families and the civilian workforce. During the visit to NBG, Parker met with senior leadership to get a better understanding of quality of life issues that may impact personnel and families on the installation. Discussions also included ongoing civilian recruiting and retention efforts. Additionally, Parker visited the
Orote Commissary.
