U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60) and USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) and Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Savannah (LCS 28) conduct maneuvering exercises with French Navy Floréal-class frigate FS Prairial (F-731), Feb. 26, 2024. The purpose of the event was to strengthen U.S. partnership and interoperability with the French Navy. FS Prairial, based in French Polynesia, contributes to protecting French territories and interests in the Indo-Pacific under the authority of the French joint regional commander, ALPACI, and regularly cooperates with allies and partners across the region. Savannah is a fast, optimally-manned, mission-tailored surface combatant that operates in near-shore and open-ocean environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. Savannah is currently underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Navy photo by Ensign Aristotle J. Toyco)
