New Hampshire Army National Guard Soldiers along with instructors from the Army Air Delivery Field Services Department and soldiers from other New England states, prepare to attach a cargo hook to a Black Hawk helicopter during the culminating event for the Sling Load Inspector Certification Course in Strafford, N.H. on April 28, 2023.
“Sling load training is a force multiplier for logistics operations,” said 1st. Lt Justin Moran, 3643rd Brigade Support Battalion, New Hampshire Army National Guard. In a legitimate war scenario roads and driving equipment isn’t the optimal route, but sling load operations improve our ability to deliver critical items to front line troops.
Moran explained that sling load operations can support the rapid movement of both supplies and weapon systems such as howitzers.
