More than 200 people, including commanders throughout Iraq, such as Lt. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III (second from the right), commander of Multi-National Corps - Iraq, and Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commander of Multi-National Division - Center (right), took a pause from operations on April 4 to attend the remembrance ceremony for Sgt. 1st Class Paul R. Smith, a platoon sergeant with Company B, 11th Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Inf. Div. Smith gave his life in defense of others.
