Tech. Sgt. Raymond Coon, 496th Air Base Squadron NCOIC of plans and programs, briefs distinguished visitors during Exercise Rising Phoenix, Feb. 7, 2024, at at Morón Air Base, Spain. During the week of Feb. 5-9, 2024, the 725th Air Mobility Squadron, Naval Station Rota and the 496th Air Base Squadron conducted Exercise Rising Phoenix by simulating a natural disaster to assess and demonstrate the joint effort between the units during surging operations to support enroute Air Mobility Command aircraft heading downrange. During the week-long exercise, the joint force supported 12 AMC missions, ferrying 290k lbs. of cargo, 89 passengers and 42 aircrew to accomplish 97% of their desired learning objectives.
