Iraqi policeman stands vigilant guard as the re-dedication ceremony commences at the newly refurbished King Faisal Bridge, named after the first king of Iraq, King Faisal I. The bridge made headlines in 2004 when four Blackwater employees' bodies were hung from the bridge. The bridge was re-dedicated April 5, 2008. After years of war the bridge was badly in need of repair. A joint Iraqi and Marine Corps team spearheaded the refurbishment.
