LAS MESAS, HN - Soldiers operate an All-Terrain Lifter, Army System II variable-reach forklift to deliver building supplies during the first day of a renovation project in this rural Honduran town. Soldiers from the 672nd, 756th, and 1430th Engineer Companies are working at Las Mesas during the joint forces training exercise Beyond the Horizon. The ATLAS II is a rough-terrain forklift with a 10,000-pound load capacity used primarily to load and unload pallets. Beyond the Horizon provides infrastructure renovation, as well as basic medical and dental care, to remote areas of this Central American country. Soldiers working in Las Mesas will replace the local grade-school's doors and windows, repair the roof, and repaint the entire structure, in addition to improving a soccer field on which area children play.
