U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Task Force Spartan and the Royal Saudi Land Forces conduct academic training focused on sharing artillery best practices in preparation for live fire training during exercise North Fires, Nov. 29, 2023, at King Khalid Military City (KKMC), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. North Fires is a bilateral exercise between the U.S. Army and Royal Saudi Land Forces that focuses on field artillery coordination. More than 100 Saudi and 100 U.S. troops participated in the exercise that consisted of academic sessions, planning sessions, and a culminating live fire focused primarily on the HIMARS or High Mobility Artillery Rocket System.
