Wreckage from the Francis Scott Key Bridge April 11 is stacked into piles at Sparrows Point, Maryland, to be sorted for later processing. An estimated 50,000 tons of concrete and steel collapsed into the Patapsco River from Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge. Once removed, wreckage is transported by barge and sorted at the site. Debris and wreckage removal is ongoing in support of a top priority to safety and efficiently open the Fort McHenry Channel.
