Sgt. Grant Blumenthal, infantry, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, receives the 2024 Ohio Army National Guard State Noncommissioned Officer of the Year award at Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center in Newton Falls, Ohio, April 7, 2024. Blumenthal earned the award for placing first in the 2024 Ohio Army National Guard State Best Warrior Competition for Noncommissioned Officers, which saw Ohio Army National Guard Soldiers compete in physically and mentally challenging events alongside partner forces from the Hungarian Defense Forces and Serbian Armed Forces.
