These anatomical models are from the National Museum of Health and Medicine’s Historical Collections. The model in the back was made in 1883 by Jules Talrich of Paris, France [M-550.10063]. It depicts the head and neck of a person who died from the effects of sulfuric acid burns to the skin. The front left model was manufactured at the turn of the 20th century by Maison Tramond of Paris, France. It depicts anthrax lesions on the left hand [M-550.10749]. The front right model was made in 1908 by Gottheil & Gottheil of the New York School of Clinical Medicine. It depicts bromoderma tuberosum on a leg.
