U.S. Navy medical personnel with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 24.3, utilize a Coriolis Micro-Microbial Air Sampler to collect samples at Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin, NT, Australia, April 24, 2024. The Coriolis Micro-Microbial Air Sampler was used to test for the air born bacteria Burkholderia pseudomallei, which can cause Melioidosis, for a study done in partnership with the Menzies School of Public Health. MRF-D 24.3 is part of an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and Allies and partners and provide a forward-postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
