Local base employees, heavy vehicle operators, evacuate their government vehicles to higher ground and monitor the situation after the Tsunami warning, Camp Foster, April 3, 2024. This day, Marine Corps Installations Pacific in Okinawa opened gates to over 1600 local residents who live in lower elevations to evacuate through the base to reach their higher ground destinations faster through Local Implementation Agreements MCIPAC and local Okinawa municipalities signed every year.
2024年4月3日、キャンプ・フォスターにて津波警報が発令された後、公用車を高台に避難させ、状況を監視する大型車両運転手の地元基地従業員。この日、沖縄の太平洋海兵隊施設は、毎年MCIPACと沖縄の地元市町村が締結している地域実施協定により、標高の低い場所に住む1600人以上の地域住民が、より早く高台に避難できるよう、基地内のゲートを開放した。
